VINEYARD TENNIS SOCIETY

Vineyard Tennis Society was founded by Gatsby and Donella Coram to create a more connected, culturally inspired future for tennis through community, storytelling, design, and year-round youth programming rooted on Martha’s Vineyard.

Meet the Founders

Deeply rooted in the island through generations of family history, Gatsby is a fifth-generation Vineyarder whose connection to Martha’s Vineyard has helped shape the Society’s vision and spirit. Together, Gatsby and Donella recently fulfilled a lifelong dream of purchasing a summer home on the island, further deepening their commitment to building meaningful experiences and opportunities within the Vineyard community.

With backgrounds spanning art, design, storytelling, education, and community engagement, the Corams bring a collaborative and culturally driven approach to Vineyard Tennis Society. Gatsby’s experience in creative direction, brand partnerships, and visual storytelling pairs with Donella’s work as an educator and advocate for youth development. Together, they are building a modern tennis platform centered around access, mentorship, hospitality, and belonging.

As parents of two young children, Harper and Landon, Gatsby and Donella are passionate about introducing the next generation to tennis at an early age. They hope to create more welcoming and aspirational entry points into the sport for other families as well, particularly Black and Brown youth who have historically been underrepresented within tennis culture.

Their vision extends beyond athletics. They believe tennis can open doors to confidence, wellness, creativity, travel, relationships, and lifelong opportunity.

Both Gatsby and Donella actively play and love the game themselves. Through Vineyard Tennis Society, they hope to honor the timeless spirit of Vineyard tennis while helping shape a more inclusive and culturally connected future for the sport.
